About Us

Forensics in Texas

 TACLD is dedicated to helping our partners in the criminal justice system, legislators and local officials better understand the role and importance of the more than 1,500 forensic science lab professionals in the State of Texas who fulfill over 200,000 requests for forensic services annually.

Economic scale

More than $140 million is invested annually in forensic laboratories in Texas. The labs include commercial, academic and government entities ranging from municipal to statewide scales, all with the goal of providing objective scientific evidence to the criminal justice system,
